First Weeks at Home with the Boys

Where we are in life: Rex flies to Texas during the weeks which leaves me with the boys here in our new home in Colorado. This has been Aiden's first couple weeks to meet Sam AND the new house. It has been my first experience being a mommy of two AND being a house owner. And it has been Sam's first experience... at everything.

Remember me getting the 'brilliant' idea to entertain Aiden with rice one rainy afternoon? It backfired... Still gotta childproof the cupboards.

Aiden has his sweet moments with Sam. He loves to make sure the swing is in working condition for the ultimate, rocking experience. Aiden then pats Sam's head and occasionally leans over to give him a kiss.

Ah, the joys of cleaning up a toddler. Notice the uneaten broccoli on the table... I tried. Aiden got this way by wearing his bowl of lasagne as a hat. I wasn't quick enough to capture that, but the aftermath is just as good.

I'd say that Sam has handled his initiation process to being a little brother quite well. He may be small, but he's tough.

And, much to my relief, Rex comes home Thursday nights and does so much for me and the boys. Yesterday Rex helped hang up some curtains for Aiden's room. Aiden was THRILLED that tools were involved. And big rods. Perfect for swinging at a certain baby's head.

So that is a rough summary of what's been going on here. I'm sure someday I'll figure out how to juggle the boys at nighttime better so I can have energy left to blog or check my email.

Props to you! Tommy's had school off for the summer and has had a really easy schedule since Clark (my new little boy!) has been born and I'm STILL having an emotional breakdown a day. You go, girl.
