A Leap of Faith

I've been adamant that we were done having kids.  Absolutely done.  There was just no way that I would even CONSIDER being pregnant again with Rex traveling.  In fact, those words were some of the first ones out of my mouth after birthing Cade.  But Heavenly Father had a different plan for us.  Rex felt we weren't done yet, but he was always very respectful of what I thought and wanted.  Then I kept having some pretty bizarre things happen to me (waking up in the middle of the night to see a child standing above Rex's head - thinking it was Cade and went to touch him/her, but then he/she disappeared.)  That happened twice.  My heart started to soften and I started praying sincerely about it.  I had the impression that if I chose to have another baby, that everything would be fine and that Rex's traveling situation would change.  Rex started interviewing for different jobs but was accepted to none of them.  I found out I was pregna...

Smart, Silly, & Sporty Boys

Aiden worked very hard on his tornado project for school. He was to include facts about tornadoes on his project, so when I checked them I read some I didn't know.  When I asked him about them, he said, "Yeah, I kinda made that up."  I then showed him how to use Google to find TRUE facts about tornadoes. :-) Sam has been working very hard learning how to read.  He comes home every night with 3-4 books to read and a writing assignment.  It's hard work but he's getting better and better!! And Cade is just plain silly - from diaper hats to funny faces. When he's not being a goofball he crashes in the most uncomfortable places, like a Kohl's shopping cart! Aiden's very first cub scout activity was the Pinewood Derby.  Rex - ahem, I mean, AIDEN - researched how best to make his car the bestest and the fastest.  Turns out all the other dads - I mean cub scouts - did the same research and it was some pretty fierce competition.  Aiden ...

Chinese New Year!

Image
Well we did it! We had another successful year of hosting Chinese New Year with our friends.  This year we fed 63 people with 5 dishes - Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Mongolian Beef, Teriyaki Chicken, General Tso Chicken - and 3 sides (rice, pot stickers, and stir-fried green beans.)  We are so lucky to have such social and fun friends!

Spring Recital and Awards Ceremony

Ahh isn't he so cute?? This little ham added a certain... sparkle... to the recital with his dancing and commentating.  (Oh dear...) But he played wonderfully and so did Sam.
