The Phillips Family

Every July 4th there's a ward breakfast at the church that's followed by a "parade" of all the kids around the parking lot.  The entire Torrie Clan was represented.   AND with matching capes! Sambo and Aiden Bear Mister Miles and Sweet Norah Spunky Emy (and Uncle Mason and Aunti Mo) The Caderator and Rexicus Awesome Austin and Killer Kimber Nothing like a little friendly competition! And I just love this picture of Emy.  

1. this boy sure loves to learn. He started thumbing through the fiction books halfheartedly at the library today until I showed him the nonfiction kids area. He eagerly picked out 4 books in less than a minute and dug right through them!         2. I'm starting to wonder if I should get Sam checked for thyroid problems. Even in 95 degree weather Sam will be shivering and cold at bedtime (thermostat set to 75) or anywhere indoors.  3. Cade loves to play in cars.  He discovered Grandma Jeanie's sunroof and excitedly shouted, "SURPRISE!" (or something that was supposed to be that) when we walked by. 4. Rex: do you know what today is? Aiden: yes, it's father day! R: do you know what that means? A: yep! So much happened in Oklahoma that I am going to have to break this up into multiple posts to get it all in.  The first day after Rex and I got back from our cruise, it flooded in Owasso, Oklahoma.  This brought back so many memories and it thrilled me to see that our boys knew just what to do when they see rivers where there shouldn't be any... hop on in!! And at the end of a messy, fun day, this is how you unwind - Oklahoma style!

For our ten year anniversary, Rex and I dropped the boys off in Oklahoma with my parents and then went on a week long  cruise to the eastern Caribbean. The ship was HUGE  and we were entertained every night with incredible performances. We saw the Broadway musical "Cats," a live concert, an ice skating show, and a diving show - and that was all on the Ship!   See how happy we are to be in the airport without kids?!  Good bye reality! We're off! For the first night, Rex got reservations for a Hibachi grill - something that I've wanted to check off my bucket list! Our fist stop was in Labadee, Haiti. We went on a Cultural tour of the island where we got to see what a typical village is like. After the tour, they dropped us off on a private beach where we could just relax for a couple hours.
