Yipppy! The Tulsa State Fair!

Image
Cade started off tired! He was just saving up his energy to digest all the cotton candy he's about to consume. Ahhh, gotta love fair food. They had a butterfly pavilion this year!  The boys loved the how they could catch the butterflies, or even just stand still enough to let them land on you.  Rex's head was a great landing pad for said butterflies. The cousins got their faces painted. Aiden read a book at school about bumper cars so we had to make sure we made a stop at them.  All was fun and games until Aiden crashed full speed into the wall and got the wind knocked out of him.  That caused him to panic because he couldn't breathe for a moment, and then cry uncontrollably until half of his face paint was washed off.  We rode a fun ride together as a family (minus Cade) and the boys loved it!

There were some fun rocks for the boys to climb on and show off their muscles. After lunch and asking for directions from this really cute old man at the  Fire Station, we hiked "China Wall."  Supposedly we were pretty dumb to hike this on foot.  We didn't even make it all the way (curse inaccurate websites!) but at least we had some good "character building" moments. :)                                             Off the trail there was an old abandoned mine.  You could see through the grates about 20 feet down or s...

Good Bye Annika

Back in September, my very good friend Annika moved away.  Her son and Aiden were in the same kindergarten class and had a love/hate relationship. :) But mostly they loved goofing off with each other.  Annika and I started going on hikes together after dropping the boys off to school in the mornings and would get together several other times during the week for play dates or other outings.  It was really fun having a girlfriend around!  You are missed, Annika Dear!
