Oklahoma! Okaloma! Okloma!
Oh, how I love spending my summers in Oklahoma. The weather is muggy. The mosquitoes are vicious. And the food is greasy. But, oh, how I love it! I guess it's all about who you spend it with that makes it so wonderful. My parents and brother's family live there, so the kiddos got to spend some good 'ole, red-neckin' time with their grandparents and cousins.
We started our adventures at Grandma Jeanie and Grandpa Tricks' with some yummy, messy blueberry goo! Sam just couldn't get enough of it and was, quite literally, shoving it into his mouth as fast as he could. Gotta plump him up some how!
Then we spent practically every day in the pool... clothes and diapers optional...er, at least for the kids...
In fact, the first day we were there - nay, the first hour we arrived - Aiden and Austin promptly undressed down to their skinnies and hopped in the pool while all the adults were chatting, but not until they first found some markers and scribbled body art all over themselves. (Look closely. It's there.) And precious "Kimmi-Cakes" loved on Sam the entire time by serenading him with a constant, "Buh-BAY-bee!! bee... bee... bee..." everywhere he turned.
Aiden mowed the lawn with Grandpa Tricks oh so gracefully...
...and swam some more... and rode around the neighborhood on the 4-wheeler... and discovered the use of umbrellas... and watched his first theater movie (Toy Story 3) with Grandma Jeanie.
And the best part of all was celebrating our 5th Anniversary at The Melting Pot, the yummiest fondue restaurant EVER where you can binge unabashedly on gourmet chocolates and cheeses and rice krispie treats and rare meats and virgin Strawberry Daiquiris to your heart's content.
Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa, for a wonderful time in Oklahoma! WELOVEYOU!
And to end on an appropriate romantic note, please enjoy the following song (the song doesn't begin until the 2 minute mark):
