Hello Vacation!!
After the boys and I spent a week with my parents in Oklahoma, Rex flew back and we went on a CRUISE. That's right. I said a CRUISE!! And the best part is, with all of Rex's traveling he accumulated enough Marriot points to get the entire 7-night cruise FREE. The only thing we had to pay for were the excursions and fun stuff. The next best part is that my wonderful parents took care of Aiden and Sam while we were gone. So this cruise counted as our 5-year-anniversary getaway AND our second honeymoon. It was pretty awesome. Here's how it broke down:
DAY 1:
DAY 4 (Belize City, Belize):
DAY 5 (Island Roatan, Honduras):
DAY 6 (Costa Maya, Mexico):
DAY 7 (At Sea/Orlando):
Slept in
Lounged around on deck
Landed in Orlando
Left our beautiful paradise
Farewell our beautiful Carnival of the Dreams ship. It was indeed dreamy. Farewell our ridiculously pampered lifestyle. Farewell our turned down sheets with chocolates on the pillows and our very fun waiters. Farewell our BEST VACATION EVER.
DAY 1:
- Waved goodbye to sunny Orlando
- Explored the ship
- Began our free 24/7 ice cream cone addition
- Found our favorite lounging place
- Chilled and relaxed
DAY 2 (At Sea):
- Slept in 'till 11:00 (I LOVE how dark the rooms are!!)
- Played mini golf on deck
- Went to a cooking demo
- Changed into our suits and went down the water slides on deck.
- Did you catch that last part?? Talk about AWESOME ship!
- Cuddled in our favorite chair
- Played oversized chess on deck (Rex whooped me)
- Dressed up all fancy-schmancy and went to a couple shows
DAY 3 (Cozumel, Mexico):
- Walked to a beach side side resort and lounged on the beach
- Took a splendid nap in a hammock
- Went scuba diving!!! (By far our best excursion)
- Came back to the ship exhausted
- Had some good laughs at the late night comedy show
- Watched TV and went to sleep
DAY 4 (Belize City, Belize):
- Rushed off the boat to our next excursion
- Made some friends on a bumpy van ride to the river, and...
- Went CAVE TUBING (yup, it's exactly what it sounds like)
- Hiked through the jungle
- Came back to the ship and had an ice cream cone
- Laid on the beach chairs while they played a chick flick on the deck's outside theater
- Watched a beautiful sunset
- Did laundry (boring I know, but necessary)
- Souvenir shopped
- Rode the "magical flying beach chairs" a.k.a. ski lift to the other side of the island
- Kayaked through the island
- Went back to the ship and watched a h
- hypnotist show
DAY 6 (Costa Maya, Mexico):
- Rode a bus to some Aztec ruins in Chacchoben
- Toured the ruins
- Souvenir shopped some more
- Boarded the ship and watched how they undocked it
- Ate at the ship's yummy pasta bar
- Bought some candy and listened to my book on deck while Rex napped
- Packed our bags
- Went to the fancy Steakhouse restaurant on board for dinner that night
DAY 7 (At Sea/Orlando):
Slept in
Lounged around on deck
Landed in Orlando
Left our beautiful paradise
