Spring Break in Oklahoma
I love going home to Oklahoma for Spring Break. For starters, it was actually GREEN and felt and smelled and looked like Spring. Ahhhh, my favorite. Aiden and Sam loved it, too, since they had free reign of Grandma's house and all her toys. Aiden spent every waking moment he could manage in the freezing cold pool. I said he was my little fish, but he corrected me and said he was a dolphin. Silly Momma. Can't you tell the difference?? I'm going to put him and Sam in swimming lessons this summer. Sam didn't swim much, but I think that was due more towards the fact that he has no body fat on him and knew the water would be a sure way to die of hypothermia. We gave him a Popsicle outside one nice sunny day, and he instantly turned blue and started shaking. Poor skinny child. But Aiden swam for the both of them. And probably ate enough popsicles for the both of them as well. We also went to the zoo where we got the royal treatment by getting to ride the train and the ferris wheel. Then there were the usual errands in the car with the kiddos, Easter egg rolling down a hill (don't ask...), snacks on the picnic table outside, super hero dress-ups, bouncy slides, egg dying, cookie frosting, fish gazing at the aquarium, rock pile climbing, water guns, and more swimming. Aiden and cousin Austin had a fun game where they'd push Uncle Brian into the pool. The looks on the faces and sounds of their maniacal laughter was priceless. Brian took it all in grace and even showed them how to wrestle with the pool vacuum/squid snake. Other than the kids having the time of their lives, it was so nice to have my mom for 2 weeks. When one of us was busy with dinner or whatnot, the other was available to put out all the fires the kids started (figuratively) or give them cuddles when usually I'd be too busy or stressed to do so. Dinner was made, the house was cleaned, AND the kids were cared for! Normally I can only do maybe one and a half of those on any given day. And I could have nice, long afternoon naps most days while my mom watched the boys. It really was a nice break for all of us and a good reset button after the long winter months. Thank you Grandma Jeanie and Grandpa Tricks for letting us stay with you!

The picture of you on the bouncy slide is THE best! priceless. I can't believe people are swimming in pools already! I'm still bundled up in my sweater dreaming of the hot shower I'm about to take! :)
Glad you had a great time!
