Mom's One Line a Day - March (about time!!)
Wow, I have been a SLACKER lately in the blogosphere. Don't you worry, though. I'll flood this blog with a bajillion posts in no time. Muahahaha.
Ahem. On to my journaling for the month of March:
1 - Poor Rex didn't get the promotion at work, so I did what any wife would do - told him I love him and am proud of him. Then I promptly treated him to a steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse with no kids.
2 - I opened up my business bank accounts today!
3 - Tonight at dinner, Aiden asked if Jesus gave us cheese that came from gold.......Wha'?
4 - Sam has the shrillest and groaniest cries - more so when he's tired. It sets my teeth on edge. Hopefully it's just a stage.
5 - Aiden randomly gave me a big hug and kiss this morning as I was getting them breakfast. Then he said, "I like to give people hugs when they look sad." I must have had a very grumpy, tired face to merit the hug. Sweet boy.
6 - My favorite part of the day is talking to Rex on the phone at night. We've even started playing Xbox Live games together. Cade keeps me company, too.
7 - Coloring with Sam is quickly becoming one of my favorite breaks in my day.
8 - Aiden: "I don't like old people."
Me: "....!? Why?? They're nice."
Aiden: "They make my brain pop."
9 - Cade is starting to show interest in toys! Happy 4 months today, Cade-ster!
10 - Rex's time home is just too short. I've loved having him home this weekend and watching him play with our boys.
11 - Trying to teach my group piano class with my hoarse voice was really hard. Aiden and Sam keep telling me to speak up. :)
12 - Aiden woke up screaming from a nightmare where a zombie killed Rex. I hugged him, sang "I am a Child of God," and said a prayer with him. Then I texted Rex. He immediately Face Timed back so Aiden could see that he was okay. Such a sweet moment at 5 in the morning.
13 - Sam looks absolutely adorable in his BYU hat that he wore every minute today - including school!
14 - It was a beautiful, sunny day so the boys and I went to the park. This was the first time since I've been pregnant that I had the energy to actually play with them on the playground.
15 - Went bowling with Aunti KD, Marti, and Uncle "Fat" Tony. Aiden was so intrigued with Anthony this visit. He kept saying, "You have long legs!" and "You have a long name!" and "You are super tall!"
16 - Whenever anyone asks Sam how old he is, he instantly answers, "Six." Silly squirt always has to one-up his brother. :)
17 - Rushed to get to church on time today. We all sit down in a pew (for a change) when Rex looks around and asks, "Where's Aiden?" Moment of panic. Turns out being early threw Aiden off because we found him wandering around the overflow area looking for us.
18 - Aiden managed to gouge the roof of his mouth on a plastic tube this morning. Lots of blood and screaming. Rushed to the doctor only to be told to feed him mush the next several days. Poor kid.
19 - I'm trying to get Cade on a regular nap schedule. Trouble is, he can really only get an hour sleep at a time before it's time to get the boys to or from school.
20 - The boys played so well together today. They were pirates on their bunk beds, monkeys on the trampoline, inventors and builders with their legos... best day as a mom to witness their friendship.
21 - Cade has discovered his toes! It works out pretty well for us, too, because when he pulls his feet up, he usually lets out a toot - maybe we wont have to pump his legs so much now.
22 - Running on 4 hours of interrupted sleep, but we made it to OKLAHOMA! The boys did great on the airplane and were so adorable. Everything from the wings to the complementary juice was so exciting for them.
23 - Rex is THE BEST husband ever! He took me shopping today for new clothes. He gave me advice on what looked good on me and helped boost my very low (post-natal) body image. Love that man.
24 - I had the sweetest conversation with Sam in church today.
Me: This is Heavenly Father and Jesus' house so we need to keep our feet off the seat.
Sam: (quite loudly) Jesus is here?! (looking around)
Me: Yes, but we can't see him. We can feel him inside of us, though.
Sam: (still loud) In my tummy?
Me: In our hearts. When we feel good inside, that is Jesus.
25 - My mom, trying to be discreet, told me we were going to see the "C-R-O-O-D-S" today. Aiden heard and started getting his shoes on. I asked, "What are you doing, Aiden?" "I'm going to go see the S-C-D-O-R-O-O-O-O-o-o..."
26 - There just isn't anything cuter in all the world than seeing a chubby, naked baby playing with his toes.
27 - Sam is and always has been so in love with my mom. I'm beginning to feel a little useless now that he wants "Gramma" to do everything for him... ahh, fine by me!!
28 - Sam asked me what my birth control pills did this morning. After fumbling for a bit, I told him it was to keep our family the way it is. He let out a big, "OOoooHhhh," then walked off with a confused look on his face.
29 - Aiden and Sam say "die" when they mean to say "kill." For Example, "I died the ant!" This made "dying Easter eggs" particularly confusing for them.
30 - My boys have confidence to a fault maybe. Whenever someone compliments them, they respond with "Yes I am!" I wouldn't have it any other way, though. I want them to know they are as great as I know they are.
31 - Happy Easter! The boys looked so cute at church today with their sweater vests and bow ties. Now it's time to fly back home to Colorado.
