Spring Break in Oklahoma
Just like last year, we went to Oklahoma for Spring Break, but this time as the pandemic is coming to a close (or at least more under control now that the vaccine is available) instead of just beginning like it was last year. Last year after we came back from Spring Break, all schools went in to remote learning and the kids started learning from home. Now it's the opposite! After Spring Break this time, ALL the kids can go back to school full time. Yay!!
I took the kiddos to "The Gathering Place" in Tulsa which is this amazingly, diverse giant park with so many fun things for the kids to play on.
Then another afternoon, Uncle B took us out on the lake on his new, huge pontoon boat. So sweet of him to take work off to entertain us! He and Cooper had a pirate "ARRRR-ing" contest. It was a close call.
Then, I REALLY splurged and bought season tickets to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri where we stayed the night in a motel and then went to the amusement park all day Saturday with Brian and family and Mom and Dad. SO MUCH FUN! I figured it was worth the season tickets if we go back again during the summer when we're normally in Oklahoma for July 4th.
Grandpa and Cooper crashed about the same time. :)
Cade was THRILLED to learn that he had grown enough this last year that he could ride pretty much any ride! He LOVES rollercoasters, it turns out!
The big boys (Austin, Aiden, Sam, and Cody) ventured out on their own - since they all have their own phones now - and waited 3 hours for the Time Traveler ride. It was quite the manly accomplishment that day. :)
The whole gang (plus a selfie of me as proof that I was there too!)
And of course, the grandkids just love playing at Grandma and Grandpa's house in all the moments in between. I just love how Grandpa Tricks and Grandma Jeanie will drop everything they're doing at the drop of a dime to play with the kids when they ask. I hope to be as enthusiastic about playing with kids as a grandparent one day as they are!
And after all the beautiful, green, rainy/sunny days in Oklahoma, we came home to Snow-mageddon in Colorado. Spring takes a little bit longer to kick in here!
