The Phillips Family

Since Aiden turned 8 years old, he could be baptized!  Both sets of grandparents came and showered him with love.  He took it all very seriously.  He answered the questions out loud that the speakers asked and even warned the next boy getting baptized that the water was a little cold. Before Aiden was confirmed a member of the church and received the Holy Ghost, he put his forearm to his heart (kind of like a knight would do while kneeling to royalty) before walking up to the circle.  He may be a bit dramatic, but he definitely knows that this was a big moment in his life. We aren't allowed to take pictures of the actual baptism, but here's Rex and Aiden afterwards.  Rex baptized Aiden. We gave Aiden his first set of scriptures. I love you, Aiden Bear! I'm so proud of the choices you have made and will make.  You are a noble spirit and will do many great things in your life!

On January 5th we celebrated Aiden's 8th birthday as a family with some requested meatballs and ramen noodles for dinner followed by strawberry sheet cake for dessert.  Aiden kept saying over and over how this was the best dinner EVER.  Love that kid! Cade beat Aiden to blowing out the candle on the first go, and I was very happy to see that I captured the moment perfectly on camera for once! Aiden had his friend party the following Saturday. Pizza + Nerf Guns = Happy Boys! Aiden got his first Pokeman collection of cards from Grandma Jeanie and was completely stoked about it.  I had no idea 8 year olds were into Pokeman.  I need to get with it! hehehe Cade totally photo bombed this pic! I love that my boys are old enough to play card games!!  Well, Cade isn't really, but he sure tries.  I'm so excited to have more board game nights with them that are NOT Candy Land. Rex fried up some delicious donuts for New Years We spent an afternoon at the park trying out the boys' new remote control devices.  We discovered something incredible that day.  Did you know that remote control toys are (or mostly are) wired for the same channel?  This meant that if the boys got too close to each other, their cars would go crazy and not do what they wanted.  HOWEVER, Rex had the billiant idea to see what would happen if we lined up all the cars and used one controller's commands - they all moved in unison!  SO COOL! The boys got to sit on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas Breakfast.   On Christmas Eve, the boys opened their Christmas Jammies and we headed over to Grandma Dixie's house for brinner and early presents with the cousins.   Then we came home and did the usual traditions.
