It's Always Fun...
This last week, my parents stopped by in our neck of the woods to see their grandboy! (And maybe us, too.) Here are some happenings of the week.
Aiden learned how to play "Book of Mormon Boogie" on the piano. (Both my dad and I are the primary pianists in our wards and were bouncing ideas off each other to make the songs fun for the kids.)
Grandma entertained Aiden for hours whenever we were in the car. I am amazed at all the games she can conjure up with only a handful of supplies. Seriously, who else can keep a toddler laughing and having the time of his life with only a leftover easter egg, a calculator, and tape measurer? She is the MacGuyver of Moms everywhere.
Who knew that bouncing a coosh-ball on a tennis racket could be so much fun?? And who else but a grandpa to encourage bouncing balls around indoors?
Bathtime is so much more fun when you have someone to splash! Grandma sure got her share of the water.
Grandpa passing on his love for books with Aiden. They'll be two little bookworms in years to come.
Did I mention that Aiden LOVED being entertained by Grandma in the car? You'd think it was a hoot before, but try adding lunch into the mixture. Not only do the chicken nuggets magically appear in easter egg shells, but ordinary foods like cheese and grapes suddenly become hysterically funny!
"How's business, Gramps? What does this button do? Who ya talking to? Want a cracker? Does your computer want a cracker?" Grandpa has the patience of Job, I'm telling you. And not just patience, I think he was actually ENJOYING our son sabotaging his morning business time. What an easygoing guy that Grandpa Tricks is!
