Sam Update

Sam is doing much better. He's holding a higher body temperature now and is getting the hang of breathing WHILE eating. Now he just needs to get stronger so he can take more than 5 gulps before he tuckers out. They think that he may be lactose intolerant... so no ice cream for mommy. So other than that, Sam is doing much better and is super adorable.

Good news: We HAVE A HOUSE!!
Bad news: Rex is all by his lonesome in that big, beautiful house.

Right now, we are all in different states. Aiden is in Oklahoma with my parents; Rex is in Colorado; and I'm in California waiting on Sam to get stronger.

More bad news: I have a cold and, therefore, cannot visit Sam until I get better.

So Rex, Aiden, Sam, and I are all alone for the time being, so to say. I mean, we still have friends and family around us, but our little family is split. And that's sad. But this will only make our reunion... some day... all the better. ::sigh:: I miss my boys.

And just so I don't end on a negative note.

More good news: I got a really REALLY cool digital SLR camera for my birthday/reunion/Christmas/consolation present. (Canon Rebel XSi in case you're interested.)

That stinks to be in different states but I agree, it will make the reunion that much sweeter. :) LOVE the camera. I got the same one for Christmas.

Oh, no fun to be all apart! I'm glad Sam is doing better though. That is awesome that you got an SLR! Someday... :)

Just a quick note to say I'm thinking of you and praying for little Sam to keep getting stronger! You'll be together soon; I did that long distance thing (but not THAT far) and it stinks, but it'll be over before you know it. Love ya tons and bunches Edda Lou! (or as Tony calls you EDDAAAAAAAAA)

And of course I perked up when I read that you got a new camera...you will love it! Dave and I leave Colorado July 1, so I don't know if we'll get to see each other! :(

You will absolutely love Colorado, I can't say enough good things about it. :)

How sad to have your family split up, but YAY for the house! Yay for parents who can watch Aiden, and DOUBLE YAY for the new camera! That is soooo awsome!

I'm glad sam is doing well. I hope he continues to improve quickly so the family can be together again. I also hope the cold goes away...FAST.

Rex and I went to Maui, Hawaii together, just the two of us!  It's times like this when we get to see the value of him traveling so much - the plane trip and hotel were completely paid for with points.  Cha-ching!  Rex totally spoiled me too.  The Mariott we stayed in was fit for a king and queen - a humongous tub, fully stocked kitchen, big comfy bed, an amazing breakfast buffet every morning, a tropical paradise of pools and hot tubs and beautiful flowers every where... a girl could get used to this.   We spent the first night and morning cramming in some homework for our scuba-diving certification class.  The next 2 days were spent at the scuba shop and in the ocean, passing off drills and skills needed to not-die.  And good news.  We did not die and completely lost ourselves underwater looking at the beautiful fish and eels and turtles around us.  Okay, just one turtle.  But it was pretty memorable!  I didn...

So now that I have finally caught up with my blogging, I feel that I need to explain where I've been. This blog is mainly for journal purposes, so just ignore this post if it makes you uncomfortable. I've known that I've struggled with depression for five years now. I've been in some dark places in my life with horrible thoughts and temptations, but it's been under control for the most part. I've been "missing" for the past 2 months because I was slowly spiraling downwards without realizing it. True, I never had any suicidal thoughts this last time (maxing out your Zoloft should have SOME kind of effect) but I started losing interest in the things that usually make me happy. Blogging. Surrounded by Handsomeness

      We christened the new van by going on TWO road trips this month. The first was to Oklahoma (and I guess, technically, Branson, MO as well) and the next weekend was to Utah to celebrate Rex's sister's wedding! So so so happy for her and her new hubby.  We got our first picture as a family with EVERYONE wearing a suit, well, except me of course. What handsome men surround me!
