To All the Married Ladies
I just want to know one thing...
Is your house ever fully organized, clean, tidy, and decorated just the way you like it?
As soon as I complete my "Procrastination List" (odd-ball things that I put off until I can't stand it anymore) there's always one more closet that needs to be sorted though, more pictures I find to hang up, more spots in the carpet that need to be scrubbed, more junk to take away, etc... I keep thinking that some day the house will be just the way I want it and the only chores I'll have to do are the regulars.
So that's why I need your opinions and advice. How long does it take to really settle in? Is there a time when your house feels "just right" or is it a continual process until the day we hire a maid?
Please... just make it stop... whimper... whimper

... and sometimes it just sucks.
Maybe houses continuously change because our familial needs are always changing. Even when our kids grow up and move out, even then I think needs will keep changing enough that I will have to constantly be reorganizing my house.
What your parents never told you: playing Tetris is actually training for motherly organizing. Dishwashers, closets, under-bed storage... it's all tetris. :)
GOOD LUCK! I know I sure need it!
Sometimes I clean off a counter or decorate an area just how I like it just so when the rest of the apartment gets hectic, I can come back to my own little area that looks nice!
I am a big fan of bed risers and matching storage boxes. I know it seems weird, but if the storage boxes match it really makes a difference.
And although I now have 2 hands instead of one with which to clean up or organize...I have four little ones that are really fast and scarily efficient at undoing EVERYTHING, plus more.
I just keep telling myself that I will one day miss finding jingle bells and crushed up cereal in my bed at night...
