Umbrellas, Doughmen, Decor, and Recitals... Oh my!
This is going to be a very random post since I haven't updated in forever. Here's some snippets of what's been going on in our home lately...
Aiden loves umbrellas. He walked around the whole house with his umbrella on this particular day. He even watched TV with it securely over his head. He can't say "umbrella" yet, but he knows it has to do with rain, which he says rather well. So he refers to umbrellas, thunder, lightening and, of course, rain as "rain!" What a nut.

Aiden also loves snowmen all year long. He's getting very good at making "dough"men and snakes with his play-do. (which there's an AWESOME never-dry-out-and-even-smells-good recipe for homemade dough here.)
And now onto my latest decoration changes...
We finally have family pictures in our house... that include Sam!! Now if anyone robs us, they'll know who they're stealing from at least.
So two things in this picture (this is for you, Mom!) I moved our clock over to the wall above the table, and we took out that stupid light that always knocked us in the heads because it was so gosh darn low. My wonderful husband put in two can lights instead. I will love him forever and ever.
And finally, the piano recital:
BEFORE
AFTER
Might I just say that I absolutely LOVE our home. It was so perfect to host my very first recital. (Thanks, hubby, for bringing home that bacon so I can make it BEAUTIFUL!) But anyways, yes, I had my first recital today where I was the teacher instead of the student. Kinda weird. But cool. I have nine students who I teach out of my home who are mostly all beginners. It's been a "fake it 'till you make it" undertaking for me, but things are going more smoothly now than at the start. And I love being able to play the piano again - not so much because it hasn't been available (it has), but I'm constantly reminded of it now that I teach it. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for paying for my lessons growing up, not to mention putting up with all my whining along the way. I think I've finally come to the point now where I can feel completely fulfilled when I play for enjoyment. And I owe it all to you. RUVROO!
