A Manda-Torrie Good Time Drywalling!

As you know our basement is finally starting to look like a part of the house and we're on to drywalling now. Lucky for us, some very cheap labor (my family) drove to visit and helped drywall the basement. Nothing like an impromptu Manda-Torrie Good Time! We had a great time catching up and bonding and all that family stuff, with the occasional working part too.

Mark taught my boys a thing or two about wrestling.

Grandma Jeanie (my madre) indulged the boys in whatever flew their fancy. In this case, lipgloss application!

And boy did Sam take this lesson seriously! We were all cracking up laughing at how solemnly he applied his lipgloss.

And then the work started. The FUN! The fun started!! The guys were definitely much better at all the handywork than the gals were.

But we sure tried and we had fun doing it!

This may just very well be Mo's first power tool to ever use. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) :) But we screwed up (in more ways than one) all the resilient channeling on the walls for sound proofing as well as a double layer of drywall. Rex is pretty serious about this theater being SOUND PROOF. (I mean, really, are we that noisy, honey??)

Oh yes, and back to playing. Mark and Steph's little baby Miles was a huge hit with all of us, and particularly Sam.

How could you resist those overstuffed cheeks and fluffy lips??

And back to wor- I mean FUN! Grandma and Grandpa are quite the team! They worked so hard that last night WELL past their bedtime. What troopers!

And here's what we accomplished in 3 days. Not much it may seem since we only got most of the theater done, but there was a lot involved and a BIG learning curve.

It's going to be a beautiful theater and a total blast once it's done.

And here's a shout out to the mastermind behind all the work. Go Rex go!! Thank you everyone for helping us so much!! It would have taken us another year to accomplish everything you did in those 3 days. You's Da Bestest!
