Overheard at Our House
Today I was thinking about one of Aiden's ... or Sam's?... quirks that was just so gosh darn cute. Then I realized that he hadn't done it in a while. And THEN I realized that I never blogged about it. And - curse my mommy brain! - now I've forgotten what and who it was! So before I forget the cute things my boys have been doing lately, I'll jot them down here.
Common Things for Aiden to Say or Do:
~"hahaha SorrEEEE!!" (in a not-very-sorry manner after hitting someone...)
~"hahaha pop!" or "burp!" when he farts. (Good insight, tho! After all, a fart is just a burp out the other end!)
~"Bye-bye poop. See you soon!" (Said after flushing the toilet. Can you tell I'm surrounded by boys when I think this is hilarious??)
~"Aha! Get a ban'aid!" When Aiden sees that someone or something is hurt (even on the TV) he sticks his little finger up in the air and says this, then reaches in his shirt to pull out an imaginary band-aid. (See the video below to see it in action with a pretend ladybug.)
Common Things for Sam to Say or Do:
~" 'A-Thor!" (dinosaur - he's always on the hunt for those sneaky fellas)
~"daaaark!" He says this very spookily (I know, not a word) while wiggling his fingers around his face. Not sure where he got this, but it sure is cute!
~Sam has the most expressive face. His eyes can go from so sweet and innocent to mysterious and excited, while his mouth can go from a full on grin to a teeny little circle of surprise.
~"Towee" for towel when he hops out of the tub, shivering with a scowl on his face.
~Whenever I go running with Sam in the stroller, he begs me to pick "Fowy" for him (flowers.) He won't stop screaming until I do.
I took this picture after finding both boys in the master bathroom, one with a drill gun and the other with the plunger having the best time of their lives.
And both my boys LOVE guns. I know this rings wrong - that they're going to grow up to be serial killers some day because of all the studies done on this - but really, it JUST HAPPENED. Even before I finally let down my barriers and bought them water guns this summer, they would turn anything and everything into a gun. I now realize that guns may not be so bad because it keeps them busy for so long and is actually pretty entertaining to watch, especially when the rule is that they can only shoot imaginary things like dinosaurs and spaceships.
Here's Aiden shooting down spaceships with an old internet router.

Comments
I love the Bandaid video for several reasons:
1. Aiden rescues the ladybug four (?) times with a bandaid
2. Sam staring at the same spot as Aiden but with a mystified face as if saying, "What's so cool about that spot of ground?"
3. Sam intentionally jumping on Aiden's ladybug
4. Aiden's fascination and total belief that there is a cold little ladybug that needs a bandaid
Ah, too cute!
