A couple Videos - Bunk Beds and Hill Rides

The time finally came to kick Sam out of the crib and into a big boy bed to make way for the baby in a couple months (well 3 hopefully.)  After debating whether or not to get a bunk bed for the boys for almost a year now - call me a worry wart - I decided that they could handle it... I hope! As Rex put it, "Every boy should have the experience of having a bunk bed at least once in his life!"  And yes, he assured me, they WOULD fall out of it.  But that's life.  So what do they do the first thing we get it set up in their room? Play Sumo Wrestlers, spin the ceiling fan, and do face plants onto the mattress.  I was positive they were going to confirm all my fears within the first 30 minutes of playing on it, but it ended well with no broken bones.  I do love hearing them laugh and play with each other - it melts my heart and brings me joy. It's just better enjoyed from another room within hearing distance, I've decided.

We've taken up a rather dangerous sport this summer, and it's riding down the hill in front of our house on our bikes.  So far there's only been one injury of a skinned knee, but considering how much FUN the kids were having, I'd say it was all worth it.  I love how Sam is holding up his skinny little legs while riding down the hill in his one-eared monkey helmet. :)

(P.S. After watching the videos after posting them on here, I've noticed that I say, "Careful, careful" a lot. I wonder if that actually makes a difference in the outcome??)

Its so fun to see all your summer posts. I have to say that the "careful, careful" most likely only calms you. I have tried to give warnings less and less with the hope that my three wild boys will pay more attention when it is most necessary.
On that note: Jos fell into a waterfall today when climbing on slippery rocks with sandals. Luckily no hurts. Good luck with those boys!
