The Zoo, the Zoo!
We made it to the zoo again this summer, and this time the weather was perfect with not a raindrop in sight! The first thing we did was feed the giraffes because the boys just love that so much. I love how after the giraffe eats the cracker or lettuce leaf from their cute little hands, they shriek with delight and immediately get another one ready.
We rode the Sky Ride (a.k.a. retired ski lift) to the top of the zoo for the first time. I about had a hernia trying to keep the boys from falling out of the seat, but once again I was probably over-freaking-out about the whole thing. :)
At the top of the Sky Ride there's a little play area with a restroom. We played a bit until Sam pooped his pants. I initially tried to blame the smell on the animals nearby... but there were none. Rats. I don't know about you, but I tend to just throw their underwear away when it's messy and I'd have to hang on to it for more than 10 minutes. Wasteful, but I'm sure it's biodegradable. In 20 years. Anyways, I digress.
I was a little more chill riding the lift back down the mountain. Isn't Sam so cute and little hanging over the rail here?? It's a pretty cool zoo in that it's built on to the side of a mountain with most of the original trees providing shelter and shade for the animals and people alike.
Notice how Sam is hanging here? He was perched on my knee but I wanted to take a quick picture of both of them looking over the side at the hippos. What a great mom, eh, to leave her child literally hanging just to get a photo??
