Mom's One Line a Day - October

It's sad how wiped out taking my boys to the duck pond made me.  In my defense, I AM 8 1/2 months pregnant, Sam had two really acidic blow-outs, and Aiden decided to go swimming with the ducks in the nasty pond.

Boys had their first professional haircuts today and they look so good.  Rats, I think this means I'm sold on getting them done now instead of my cheap, butcher cuts each time.

Sam woke me up every 2 hours last night.  I don't know how I'm going to handle waking to a newborn AND Sam in the middle of the night.  Goodnight sleep...

Drove home today from Oklahoma.  Mixed feelings.  It helps to know that my mom will be coming up for the baby tho.

Had my last recital of the year tonight.  My students did great and I am so happy with their progress.  Also so happy to take a break for a bit.

I'm getting really nervous about having this baby.  I feel so unprepared.  I'm looking into classes and books to help.

It was General Conference today.  When President Monson came on I called the boys over. "That's the prophet!" I told them.  "Let's listen to him!"  Aiden started singing "Follow the Prophet."  After 5 minutes of "listening," Sam very sadly looked at me and said (with his bottom lip trembling), "I don't want to follow da prophet." OK, go play with your toys.  We'll try again in a couple years. :)

  Can't think of anything.  Sorry

Tore out the garden with Rex today.  It was so sad seeing so many green tomatoes go to waste due to the frost.

Sang various superhero theme songs to school today per Aiden's request: Iron Man, Super Man, Spider Man.  We got stuck at Transformers.

Aiden and Sam are SO Excited for the holidays.  They ooh and ahh over all the Halloween décor that's coming out, so I got a bit crafty and made some ghosts for our front porch.

Heard the garage door open and close at 4:30am. It was Aiden who went to see the ghosts on our front porch.  He couldn't get the front door open so he got out the garage through the van's button.  He was too excited to sleep and had to see them. :)

Getting a cold, which really stinks during pregnancy since I can't take meds.  Rex has been very sweet and makes sure my sinuses are rinses and the tissues are near my bedside each night.

During the Primary Program practice today at church, when it was Aiden' turn to say his part in the microphone, he instead says, "Did you know... that I love you guys?" :)

Had an ultrasound at the doctor's today.  Little Cade is SO big now and can only fit his head into the picture for me now.  I got teary eyed watching him. I'm so excited to finally hold this little doofer!

Took some dinner to my friend who just had a baby.  She answered the door in her nursing bra holding her baby girl and remarked how she's being "held hostage" nursing. :) Agh! How am I going to do this with two boys??

Sam has the cutest lisp.  I love when he answer a question with a deliberate, "Yes-th!"

I'm feeling like all of our home improvement projects are coming to an end.  Halleluiah!  Life is getting settled and more organized so I feel ready for this baby to come.

Hormonal crying is so crazy.  I can't make my mind up if I'm laughing at myself or crying.  That's what happened after I babysat 5 kids this morning and then looked at the unfinished baby room.

Talk about the best day ever! We had a great movie night last night with friends, I had a baby shower this morning that was a blast, Rex TOLD me to take a nap and he'd watch the boys, then we went on a date to the hospital tour followed by dinner.

Aiden used his first substitute swear word today.
      Aiden:  Mom, where's Sam?
      Me: I think he's downstairs
      Aiden: Aw, crabnuts!

The boys helped me get the nursery put together today. They are going to be good older brothers!

I hurt and ache so much Sam gave me a too rough of a hug at bedtime and I burst into tears.  It didn't hurt - it was just too much.  Thank goodness Rex was there to take over and send me to bed.

Woke up to the first snowfall this winter!  Got the boys dressed and watched them sled an eat snow.  We drank hot chocolate then went inside, only to find that Sam had diarrhea inside his snowsuit.

I feel like I did the last 5 miles of the marathon I ran last year.  My body is battered and sore, but can be pushed through - it's the leaden exhaustion inside that's making it hard to keep going.

Temple night with Rex  is the best - even if I had a hard time squeezing into my dress, the locker room, the chairs...

Finally got rid of all the basement construction garbage that's been accumulating in our backyard.  Yay!!  The basement chapter of our life is OVER.

38 weeks pregnant today - GET OUT OF ME CADE!  On another note,  this morning when I asked the boys to take off their PJs and diapers because they smelled, Aiden quizzically asked, "Smell good... or bad??"

Went to the doctor's today for my 38 week check-up.  She stripped my membranes and called it good.  Ouch!!  Come on, Cade, and please come by the end of this week!

Had a blast at our ward's Trunk or Treat.  Aiden and Sam were running around everywhere in the excitement.  I was a Magic 8 Ball, Rex was a blue man, Aiden a Power Ranger, and Sam was Spiderman.

The boys are chalk-full of candy.  They're sleep deprived.  They're on sensory overload.  Halloween was a success.

You've never been pregnant this long, huh. It sucks! Thanks to Corbyn and his 10 pound glory I'll probably never have to go past 39 weeks! I hope Cade comes soon for you - you can do it!
