Mom's One Line A Day - February

- As if cleaning up after 3-4 of Sam's diarrhea episodes wasn't enough, he dumped and dribbled an economy size bottle of black craft paint all over the theater carpet.
- I was dreaming that I was swaddling and comforting a very upset Cade, only to be woken up by Aiden telling me that Cade really was crying.  Oops.
- It's so cute watching Rex play video games with Aiden and Sam.  He gets into it just as much as they do.
- I saw some crayon smeared on my bedroom mirror.  When I started picking at a chunk that was harder than expected, I asked out loud, "What is this??"  Aiden heard me and answered, "It's poop."  Lovely.
- I went shopping for our Chinese New Year party today!  The cashier asked me why I was celebrating it and I proudly said, "It's when my husband and I hooked up."  Love you Rex!

- Aiden helped me prepare all the sauces and marinades for our Chinese New Year party.  He soon lost interest and explored the many possible ways to cut a block of cheese without using a knife.  Messy, but good exploring!
- Aiden stayed home sick today from school and was thrilled that he could finally play "Minecraft" on the X-Box.  He is getting really good at building things and even told me he wants to be a builder when he grows up.
- We had our Chinese New Year party tonight with some other couples.  It was a lot of fun stuffing ourselves silly with Chinese food and playing games afterward.
- Poor little Sam is sick now with a bad cold/flu and fever.  He just wants to cuddle all day.  Such a sweet boy.
- I think this is the first restful Sunday I've had in a long time.  Confession: It was Stake Conference and we stayed home.  The boys made their Valentine bags for school.

- Cade rolled over today!
- I left Sam in the car while I took Aiden to school since he was sick and too weak to walk.  When I came back, a school security lady was standing next to the van and told me to never leave my kids in the car again.  I was so embarrassed.  I just wish there were more of me.
- The boys and I made Valentine cookies today.  They picked out which heart cutter to use.  Of course they picked the biggest one. :)

- I met Rex at the airport before flying out to Oklahoma.  He was just coming back from his work week, so we had a brief 10 minute "Happy Valentines!" moment before going our separate ways.  I came home to flowers.  What a Romeo.
- Yay!  It's so good being home with my family.   Cade is the center of attention and never has to go very long without being held.  I miss my boys and Rex, tho.  I keep feeling like I've forgotten something.  I think it's them!
- Monica and Steph had their baby shower this morning.  It was super fun and cute and POPular (Pop was a theme.)  We went to a hockey game tonight.  Cade handled all the noise very well and loved the attention from my dad. :)
- Cade looked adorable in his "tuxedo" at church.  I'm sad my getaway is ending tonight, but it'll be good to see Rex and the boys again.

- I was so tired today that I lost my balance and fell twice.  The worst was down the stairs while holding Cade.  We're both okay.  I'm just very bruised and sore.
- Feeling better today.  Motivated even!  I made the schedule strips with the boys this morning so we can all be on track again.
- Time to get my rear in gear and start working out.
- It'll be a miracle if Cade survives infancy.  I found Aiden holding Cade by his ankles and cheerfully singing, "Upside down!  Upside down!"  And Cade was cracking up laughing.
- I love finding my boys playing legos together during TV time instead.
- Sam kept telling "Why did the _____ cross the road?" jokes where every single non-sequitur answer involved a donut.  I'm craving donuts now...
- Rex rushed Aiden to Urgent Care in a snow storm this morning for a bad ear infection.  While waiting for the clinic to open in the snow, Aiden danced to cheer up the sick, sad kids waiting.  What a cute ray of sunshine!
- At dinnertime, Sam asked, "What'th that?"  I replied, "They're enchiladas."  Sam: "Ooo, enchila-las!"  I think that name is going to stick. :)
- The boys and I spent a nice, lazy snow day at home with no school and no piano.  It was great.
- I walked by Sam after getting out of the shower (dressed) with my very messy, wet, snarly hair and Sam adoringly says, "I love your beautiful hair, Mom!"
- After being sick from school for 2 days, Aiden walks into his classroom and loudly announces, "I'M HERE!!!"  He sure knows how to make an entrance.

What a good idea, I should do this. :) So--about the leaving Sam in the car thing. In Indiana I was told you could get arrested for doing that, but here in North Dakota I have been told it's not against the law. Especially in the winter, everyone does it... and I have too on occasion. But I'm with you, I wish there were more of me. :) Actually, I just looked up Colorado and there is no law against it either. So tell the security lady that if she doesn't like it she needs to come sit with your kids. Ha. Anyways, I will now step down from my soapbox. :)
