Our Summer Schedule

Now that summer is over, I am finally making time to blog about all the fun things we did!  Thanks to Pinterest, I was able to make a schedule that we (mostly) stuck to.

MAKE SOMETHING MONDAY
I didn't take any pictures of this, but we made play-doh, gak, perle bead designs into Mario characters, bread, and planted the garden!

TAKE A TRIP TUESDAY

The Cheyenne Zoo is always a favorite

At Belleview Park in Denver, we rode a train, played in the creek, milked a fake cow at the petting zoo, and had a picnic lunch at the playground.

WET N WILD WEDNESDAY

Water balloons were a big hit every Wednesday.  So thankful I found this pump that they could use to fill up the balloons themselves!

And of course we went to the pool a lot.

THINKING THURSDAY

We took a hike on the hill beside our house and found all the cactus-es (? cacti?) Aiden was pretty thrilled to find the ones with flowers.

We traced our bodies and learned about our organs.

We went to the Children's Museum and learned how whirlpools worked.

FRESH AND FUN FRIDAY

This was our day to do whatever, really.  We went to the park a lot where Cade had his first swinging experience.  He LOVED it!!

EVERY DAY QUARTERS
To earn a dollar a day, the boys could do chores, workbook time, reading time, and exercise (riding our bikes was a popular one) to get a quarter each.  After saving their money for a couple weeks, I'd take them to the store where they could pick out a toy to buy.

The boys learned to fold and sort their laundry.

Cade's chore was to learn how to crawl.

By the end of summer, Aiden could ride his bike confidently with no training wheels and Sam was much better at riding his big boy bike.  Aiden and Sam's first prize at the store were new watches that light up and ring pops.

And this is how most of our days ended:  Totally exhausted and dirty, but oh-so-happy!

Good bye, Summer!  We will miss you!
