September's Catch-Up

This month Cade turned 10 months old.  The highlight of the month for him was his TONGUE!  He constantly had his tongue out no matter the activity...

...at restaurants, while playing, during bath time, at the Salon, everywhere!!  That tongue was his Happy-Ometer.  If the tongue was out, then he was happy. :)  And he is ALWAYS happy!

Aiden was under the firm belief that if he climbed Castle Rock three times this month, that he would get super sonic powers of muscle-booming speed.  We indulged him and got that much healthier in the process. :)

After I pick Sam up from school we have 45 minutes until it's time to get Aiden, so we usually go to the "Dinosaur" park to kill time.  (That's not its real name - the boys just named it the Dinosaur Park because of the solitary dinosaur bouncy toy by the swings.)  While there, Sam informed me that he can swing himself now because his teachers at school taught him how that day.  WHAT?!  So the past TWO years of me trying to teach you to kick your legs in and out never took??  And THEY get all the credit??  Oh well, at least it gives me a break from running back and forth between two kids at the swings.

Cade found his balance this month!  He can stand on his own for about 20 seconds.

Aiden and Sam love going to the Rock Park which has a perfect view of Castle Rock.  We try to go after school at least once a week.

McKae and Anthony brought home their newest addition to their family:  Mr. Rockwell Gonzalez!  Sam wanted to hold his new cousin and did a very good job of it. :)

We enrolled Aiden and Sam in Taekwando this month.  It's been humorous, challenging, and downright embarrassing, but we're sticking with our guns and keeping them in.  So far, Aiden has bitten his instructor, kicked a kid in the head, I've been kicked out because Cade was too loud during their "meditation" time, and Sam makes frequent surprise attacks on Aiden which ends up with them wrestling on the ground with their teacher trying to pry them apart.  I don't think Master Lee likes us too much, but who cares??  The boys love it and we are working on their behavior with threats of no video games on the weekends.

Aiden has had the song "This Girl is on Fire" stuck in his head all month, which transferred over to Sam.  I didn't realize that the boys were taking the song quite literally until Sam came home from school with this lovely piece of work.  Sam's preschool was learning about fire safety this month.  What a mixed message!

Feeding Cade is always an adventure.  Feeding him with a spoon is proving more and more difficult, so I was thrilled when he could finally chew things (or gum them more like) on his own.  I found him one morning with yogurt bites on each of his cheeks like a little toy doll.  What were the odds of that happening?? So cute!

I realized this month that the trampoline is the PERFECT playpen for all three boys.  I keep the sliding door open and keep an ear on everything while I work at the computer or clean or whatever...

One of Cade's favorite activities to do lately - when he isn't emptying out all the cupboards or biting ho;is to watch the washing machine spin the clothes.

And an "Overheard at our House" tidbit for ya:

Aiden: 37 is a cool number.  What's your favorite number mom?
Me: I don't have one
Aiden: THEN PICK ONE!!!
Me: Ok... how about 31.
Aiden:  oh...ok... That's good, I guess
Me: Well what's your favorite number?
Aiden: QUADRILLION!
