Mom's One Line a Day - February

1 - I fasted today the first time in a looong time today and you know what?? It was great and I got more out of church today than I usually do.
Cade is a trooper on my shopping trips.

2 - Cade still likes to wake Rex up in the mornings.  Although now, it's evolved from Cade whispering sweetly, "Play?" to him unplugging Rex's phone and throwing it on his face.
Yumm, hot dogs at Costco

3 - Sam has really become the acrobat... or something.  He is constantly doing head stands anywhere there's a supporting wall.

4 - Rex and I are throwing a big Chinese New Year party at the end of the month.  Rex is in charge of food and I'm in charge of decorations and getting people to come.  So far we have 26 couples.  I hve been busy busy BUSY getting things ready.  It's so much fun, though!
6 - Cade gives the best, randomly timed, and plentiful tackle hugs throughout the day.

7 - Had an urge to hike the hill in our neighborhood with the boys before the snow hits this weekend.  The boys did great, and thankfully we didn't run into any rattlesnakes or bears.  Yikes.
8 - Without fail, every time Rex leaves during the closing hymn at church to open the library, all three boys end up in tears one way or another.  Rex is the Happy Glue of our family.
9 - Cade is the best greeting committee.  Whether it's a friend, piano student, UPS guy, or cashier, e always gives an enthusiastic "Hi!" or "Bye!" while waving his hand.  He even gets a bit offended if he doesn't get one in before the person leaves.
10 - After getting the boys' hair cut at a friend's house, I realized what horrible manners my boys have.  When we arrived, they walked in the garage door, they rummaged through her fridge for food, they ran through the house yelling loudly,... Rex and I have started a "Rude or Polite" game with them to help curb their hooligan-ness.  Whenever they do something, we ask "Rude or polite?"  More times than not, thy answer back solemnly with "'wude."

11 - Aiden wrote his first valentine to a girl today.  Lucky for me, I saw it on the counter before he put it in his backpack. Here's what it said: "Love you like an angel, Macee.  I hope you have a lovely, hearty, wonderful day.  And I invite you over and we will have pizza, bananas, and souffle on Saturday."
12 - Poor Sam is going through a rough stage.  He wants to have friends playing with him constantly, and when they can't he bursts into tears.  It breaks my heart.
13 - Rex and I took our valentine date tonight.  He cooked amazing steaks, grilled asparagus, and cauliflower puree with Bearnaise sauce.  So fancy and delicious!
14 - Aiden: Don't mess with me, Sam.  I know Taekwando.
Sam: Umm, I know Taekwando too.
This is how Cade chills when I teach piano during the day - thank heavens for the Roku.

15 - Rex made a fabulous teriyaki chicken and stir-fried veggies for dinner tonight.  The boys and I LOVED it.  Cade even started sipping the sauce like it was a soup with his spoon in the puddles on his plate.
Aiden built an igloo out of our neighbor's snow-piles from their driveway.

16 - No school today because it's Presidents Day.  We spent the morning playing in the snow and sledding on the hill in our neighborhood.  Aiden and Sam sure have come far in their cold endurance. Sledding lasts longer than 10 minutes now.  Hooray!

Sam was pretty dang excited that he could build a cube.

Hahah I had little comments for each post and picture! I'll just do the main ones.
I loved SAMs response to Aiden's taikwondo warning.
Emy is just like Cade in saying hi to everyone. It makes her so happy when people say hi back.
Your valentines dinner sounded amazing (drooling)
I love that Rex is the glue and the picture of him reading to the boys melts my heart. He's a good daddy
Ummmm.... I can't remember every thought I had now. But I LOVED this post! Keep em coming
