Spring Break in Oklahoma
Grandpa started building a tree house in the front yard's oak tree! Sam is my adventurous spirit and was the first to climb up there with grandpa before any of it was even built.
Grandma Jeanie took me and the boys on a hike on "Turkey Mountain" in Tulsa - who knew Tulsa had a 'mountain'??
Once the basic platform to the tree house was complete, we had so much fun climbing up into the branches - even I had a go at it. I forgot how fun climbing trees can be! Sam made a whistle contraption out of some building toys of Grandma's, which he liked to toot from the tree house a lot. As you can see, it was stressing out Aiden a bit!
We got to witness Owasso history while we were there by being a part of the first tornado to ever touch down in Owasso in... a really long time! We only caught a glimpse of the tornado (of course we were looking for it from the front door!) but got to see some intense rain and hail. I LOVE STORMS!!!
I may have accidentally given Aiden the wrong pill one morning before one of our outings which knocked him out for most of the day. Oops...
Our boys plus Austin and Kimber got to go on a cave tour in Arkansas. It was the boys' first cave to ever be in. Cade was a bit nervous until he asked if there were dinosaurs in the cave. I told him that all the dinosaurs are dead and there are none in this cave or anywhere on Earth. He relaxed and I could hear him every once in a while saying to himself, "All dinosaurs dead" as a mantra of peace whenever he started feeling scared again. :-)
And we celebrated Easter while in Oklahoma as well. The Easter bunny really outdid himself in the Easter egg hunt this year by hiding varying amounts of money in some of the eggs. Talk about fun!! I didn't get any pictures of that, but you can imagine it, right? Dying Easter eggs with the cousins was a hoot, even if Aiden ate most of his eggs. (Gee, wonder where he gets that from?? I have a bad habit of craving hard boiled eggs during Easter egg dying time, too. hehehe)
