The Rest of April
Cooper started a funny method to soothe himself to sleep by rubbing his blankie on his face and then leaving it there. Makes me a little nervous but he seems okay! The second picture is Cooper after playing with the Porras sisters during piano lessons. They wear him out! It really is the best thing to see after I'm done teaching.
This is how I stay in my grocery budget. I put Cooper in the cart and shop until I run out of space!
We had Rex's family over for Easter dinner and had a little Easter egg hunt afterwards. The week before I bought a bunch of enormous Easter eggs for decoration. The first thing the boys did when they saw them was - of course - throw them on the ground to break them open and then put the pieces on their heads. I had to recapture the look for posterity's sake.
This little guy is sleeping through the night! AND his naps are getting longer and more predictable. Hooray!
About every week I trade off with a friend of mine to watch our 2 boys. They really are two peas in a pod and are so adorable together. The last play date was at our house and both boys had packed lunches on their own with two of everything to share. They ended up eating all of it at the park so we went to Chick-Fil-A when lunchtime rolled around. They crack me up!
Cooper is 6 months old and can lift his head off the ground like a pro now. He's even really good at doing crunches on his back. When I go to get him out of his crib, I'll see him craning to see me in a half crunch position.
One Saturday, Aiden was whining about doing his chores. Sam had already finished his chores, but when he heard his brother in distress, this silly boy came running down the stairs like this - with his blankie tied around his neck like a cape - and said, "Super Sam is here to save the day!!" He then started helping Aiden load the dishwasher. He kept this up for most of the afternoon much to his brothers' (and my) delight.
After our evening family prayer, our "Huggie Time" usually ends up like this - Cade tackling his brothers, begging for a group hug.
Cade, Cooper, and I ventured out into our neighborhood and found another neighborhood park. This was Cooper's first time in a swing and he loved it!
Since we bought our home furnished, we inherited a bunch of random decorations that I probably would have never bought. One is this humongous shell in the master bathroom. It seemed a little silly until we realized that it could make a great throne for a King Tritan wannabe. :-)
Rex has been traveling every week this month and I find myself cutting corners whenever I can. This night was the boys' elementary school's night at Chuck-E-Cheese and I didn't want to make dinner. So I gave in and went this time. The boys had a blast - and it wasn't even their birthday!
I volunteered to be a chaperone on Aiden's field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Talk about a cool museum! Aiden's group did a fun science experiment testing different breakfast cereals for their sugar content.
Cooper started eating solids this month, too. So cute and messy!
