A Day of Injuries
Today Aiden was running around, tripped and sprained his ankle. It was so sad because he kept trying to get up and run again, but would fall down crying. I'd get him to sit on the couch for a couple minutes and then he'd go at it again. This kid just can't sit still! So I turned on a movie, iced his ankle, gave him Tylenol, and cuddled. That seemed to work.
Later today after he woke up from his nap, I carried him down the stairs to get some dinner. Well, Sam and I had been playing earlier and he was still in the office. Sam surprises me with how quickly he crawls now, but by the time I got Aiden sitting at the table, I heard the most horrific tumbling sound going down the stairs. It was Sam. Sam fell down 14 stairs. I felt so sick to my stomach and rushed over to him. No broken arms or legs or ... heaven forbid... a broken back, just a scared little baby. In 15 minutes he was back to smiling and bouncing in his jumper-horse-thing. I'm so glad he has extra cushioning, physically and spiritually! My prayers tonight will be EXTRA grateful.
We are getting some heavy duty, hardware-mounted baby gates ASAP. Believe you me.
And that's my drama of the day. Drama, drama, drama.
Over and out.
