Ohh, now THAT's the White House!

Last weekend, I got to fly to Maryland to visit my old college roommate Maera and her boyfriend Josh. Rex was the BEST HUSBAND EVER and took care of the boys all weekend so I could have some good girly time on the East coast.

Maera took me to see all the Washington DC sites on Friday. Turns out, I'm a very ignorant American because I thought any building that was white and had columns was the White House. That night she and Josh took me out to sushi for my very first time (AMAZING!) and then we crashed at home. We went to a Spy Museum where I was a German Spy named Greta Johansburg or something who was an astronomer visiting London on a secret mission to deliver documents to a lady at a convention. It was pretty fun seeing all the gadgets and getting a few history lessons at that, all while being questioned intermittently from kiosks to see if we made good spies ourselves. We also went to the National Geographic Museum and learned all about the race to the South Pole. Turns out the key to success was DOGS not horses. Just in case you were wondering... We also watched movies, ate fudge and popcorn, played Skip-Bo and Bananagrams, and went swimming. All the things in life that make me happy. Talk about a GREAT weekend! I had fun and got some culture in me as well!

Yup. I was really there.

Nope, not the White House. It's the Capitol Building.

Beautiful Maera posing in front of the Washington Monument for me.

YES, now there's the White House.

Pretty fountains at the FDR Memorial

And before I left, I got to meet up with my hometown friend Danielle and her family to take some pictures for them.

Thank you for the good time, Maera and Josh!! Come and visit us in Denver soon!
