Basement: Phase 4 Insulation Complete

Hooray! Our basement is coming along and is starting to feel like we have actual rooms now instead of skeletal imitations. I shot a lot of pictures of the theater because, let's face it, that's the whole point of finishing our basement. And it's the coolest. So here's what we'll be facing when watching movies - the fireplace glowing dimly on the left with a ginormous 10 foot screen in the middle.

Here's where the screen's going to be head on. Notice up above that there's going to be an alcove in the middle of the ceiling that will add to the affect. (Effect?)

More of the alcove. Rex is going to put crown molding up inside of it with the lights hidden behind it, so it will be glowing and less harsh.

Looking out of the theater to the hallway with half of the alcove showing.

This is the view coming down from the stairs looking into the theater. There will be beautiful oak double doors leading in to the theater, and the hallway leading to the back is nice and wide and open.

Another shot looking in to the back of the theater and you can see where the patio door is that leads to our backyard on the left. Once again, lots of light and openness. I love it!

You're so sweet to put this up (and for cleaning the basement). BTW, it's a 10 foot screen, 8 wouldn't meet THX specs. I am such a nerd (and proud).

Wow! Way to go! I can't wait to see finished pictures. So sometime when I come home and visit the fam I'll have to come over for a movie night!
