Basement Project: Theater 85% complete!

Right as soon as we thought we could take a little breather from the Thanksgiving madness, we realized that we had yet another deadline to beat - the rest of the carpet installation. So we've been busy getting the oak doors ready and all the trim and baseboards and doors painted (which are hiding in this picture.) It's good that we had such a quick deadline, though, so we wouldn't draw out the remainder of the basement for another year or so. If you notice the lovely sage green wall in the back, that's going to be my craft room! Yay! Maybe now I'll craft!

And opening the doors, VOILA! The beautiful Theater in all its purple glory. (This is the view coming down the stairs, by the way.) This shot is so you can see how awesomely coordinated the paint colors are. :) Rex is probably shaking his head and rolling his eyes right about now...

And here are the wonder seats, which can fit 8 comfortably, plus two beanbags stored behind the couches. Still fiddling with the curtains, but I think I like this pair much better than the last. I'm going for an eggplant, brown, and silver look. Maybe with bright yellow accents in future wall hangings or pillows... just a thought... Mo, let me know if you think that idea is garbage. Honestly. :)

And here's the mighty 110" screen and the beautiful fireplace which will soon have grey stonework around it. I am looking forward to that addition!

Oops, there's the vacuum. But this is how it looks from the (almost) center back of the room.

And I absolutely LOVE how the vaulted ceiling with cove lighting turned out! I tell ya what, that Rex is amazing in that he designed this whole basement. What a stud!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, if this room were a delicious treat then I would be gorging on this yumminess!

The yellow accents would be so spunky and absolutely divine

The cove ceiling makes me drool with heavenly delight

Those couches are stunning and look soooo super comfy

Those beanbags are way fun and are perfect for a compromise between you and Rex (as I recall he only wanted bean bag chairs? The couches are much more sophisticated and grown up)

ROCK BAND YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Playing rockband in there would be LEGENDARY!

Oooo, the grey stonework around the screen will be so pretty

I love the doors!!! Those are SO pretty and classy with a hint of spunk!

You two are so great and Edda, you have AWESOME style! I'll say it again (differently but same idea) I want to eat this yummy room!

YAY!!! It looks awesome!! I am super impressed with the perfectly coordinated colors. That's a much harder task than I ever thought it could be. I LOVE the idea of yellow accents. GREAT work!
