Miscellaneous Cuteness
All the parents were invited for a Thanksgiving feast at Aiden's preschool a while ago. And if you've ever been invited to attend your child's school, you will know how dang cute everything is! The kids sang some turkey songs for us and then showed us where to dish up our food.
Aiden made his own placemat and centerpiece and was very proud of them both. I love this mouth-full smile of his. :)
hahaha it must have been very bright because his eyes usually aren't that squinty! :) He's so cute. I really love this kid.
And this is how Sam walks across the parking lot to get to Aiden's school now - with a magnifying glass. Gotta watch out for sneaky rocks in the way! (Who cares about cars, right??)
Sam is such a funny kid. He's always acting like he's the hero on a spy movie - always alert and in the "get-ready-to-attack" stance, which has given him some killer thigh muscles, by the way. Anything worthy of proclaiming his caveman manliness, he's all over it. I love this kid.
He has also been known to bring the magnifying glass to church where he poses like this to people behind us until they laugh. Sometimes he even inspects the aisles to make sure they're safe... or something. Who knows what's going on in this lil' guy's head?
And speaking of church, I couldn't help myself from taking this picture of Aiden singing out of the hymnal. He has the sweetest little voice and loves to make up his own songs. Sometimes I'll start singing something and he insists that I'm doing it wrong. When I ask him how it's supposed to go, he'll sing something like this: "Jingo bews (jingle bells). HOKEY POKEY! habadubdada WAAAY!" Love that kid.
And put the two together in a Costco cart? Why, you're in for a load of entertainment. I've learned to delay the inevitable attacks on each other by buying them $1.50 hot dog and drink combos to eat while I'm shopping. When they start to hit each other with the buns, which they don't like to eat, I quickly throw them away and distract them with their drinks. When they're done with their drinks, that's when the punching, shoving, and kicking usually begins. Sam will lean on Aiden until Aiden pushes him back in place, which makes Sam cry because HE'S the victim now. (Seriously, that Sam kid will do anything to try and get his brother in trouble.) Then I have to find a way to entertain them that isn't too involved because, hey! I'm trying to get the shopping done as quickly as possible. This last time I surprised them by blowing in their faces. They'd throw their heads back and laugh hysterically every time I did it. But then they started doing it back to me... which turned into spitting...at me... which is NOT cool. So I tried to get them to stop, but trying to spit at Mom with her hand over your mouth and still succeeding is even more hilarious! So by the end, I'm covered in spit and quite haggered while paying for all the groceries. But hey, the boys were happy and no one died.
The End
