A Post Christmas Post
After opening presents on Christmas morning, we hopped in the car and drove to Salt Lake City so we could get together with Rex's siblings. We were going to go to his grandparent's cabin, but it got snowed in big time. So instead we all booked rooms at a nice hotel and hung out there for several days. This is how we spent most of our time:
We totally rocked Rock Band. Dude.
We had quite a few curious stares from other hotel guests peeking inside our door when they'd hear all the out-of-key singing. I'm really surprised we weren't kicked out, come to think of it...
On Sunday we went to the Grand America Hotel and walked around their incredibly ritzy hallways looking at their window displays in all their shops. They also had a gingerbread house theme going on that their pastry shop put together. It was incredible. However, the only picture I took was of this super fun Christmas tree that I would love to have in my house some day... ya know, when the kids won't try eating every candy cane on it, even if they're the same height.
We had a gift exchange with everybody and the kids surprised Dixie with her very own laptop. These Phillips kids sure love their mom! I loved everyone's reactions to every single step - from opening the present to talking about it afterward. We missed McKenzie and Irving but, seeming as McKenzie is (as of this exact moment) going into labor, we realize they had a pretty good excuse.
(Martha or McKae, if you'd like your own videos of your hubbies dancing, I can send them to you. They're pretty humorous as well and I'd include them, but it takes FOREVER to upload videos!)
