And finally... CHRISTMAS!

Yes, I have finally caught up to Christmas Eve. This was our first year to have Christmas at home with our boys, and it was so much fun. We invited Rex's parents and sister (Mike and Dixie and Marti) to stay overnight on Christmas Eve so we could head out in the morning to Utah together to meet up with the rest of the family. Mike was having a hard time stomaching the fact that he was now the grandparent being invited over for Christmas. :)

Because of the situation and the realization that my boys are starting to remember holidays, I honed in my Torrie Traditions Instincts and made a schedule of all the things we had to cram in to Christmas Eve night. Mind you, it was very tame to what I was used to growing up, but even still, it was a shock to the Phillips'. It all started with dinner (no problems there) and then singing Christmas carols around the piano with hot chocolate ("What?!" from Marti.) All in good fun, though! Then we reinacted the Nativity with a breakable creche of mine (couldn't find all the key players to my fisher price one), got into our Christmas PJ's, and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas." I couldn't get a clear picture of how cute it was with Rex and the boys reading the story because the cuteness lasted all of a whopping 30 seconds.

So we called it good after 2 pages in and tucked the little rascals into bed.

And then Christmas morning arrived. HOW FUN!

Here is Aiden's reaction to seeing all the presents: plops down right in front and just giggles to himself for a couple minutes. Strange kid. :)

And Sam just jumped on the trampoline most of the time, that is when he wasn't trying to steal Aiden's presents.
