Rainy Zoo Experience

Last Saturday we woke up to a nice Spring rain shower.  "Rats, we can't work in the yard today!" I sarcastically thought. So instead, I convinced a skeptical Rex that there was only a 30% chance of rain in Colorado Springs and that it'd be fun to go to the zoo as a family.  Turns out that the 30% was directly over the zoo.  I was completely in denial while packing and didn't even bring rain gear, so we bought the boys some adorable umbrellas at the gift shop and a hoodie for me.  The boys LOVED their umbrellas and would excitedly tell every passerby that there was a giraffe or tiger on his umbrella.  The umbrellas themselves totally made the trip for them, I think.

We also fed the giraffes which was awesome as always.  I love how excited they got each time a black, sticky tongue would lick the cracker from their hand.

And on the way home Aiden danced in the backseat to some groovy music Rex and I were listening to.

So even with the rain, it was a great family outing.  Hopefully we can have more of these now that the basement is pretty much done now.

OH I wish I could have gone with ya'll! The zoo is one of my most favorite-st ever! The giraffes looked awesome - jealous the boys got to feed them and have so much fun! :)
