Mom's One Line a Day - May

1 - I started Cade on solids today - he loves it and shoves the spoon into his mouth.  Hopefully he'll start getting used to a bottle now...
2 - Scene: Aiden is cleaning up toys.
Rex: Sam, do you want to help your brother pick up toys?
Sam: No, I want to watch my brother pick up toys.
3 - The boys planted the peas with me - I love that we can do that together.
4 - Went on a fabulous date with Rex to see Iron Man 3.  I sure love that guy.  Rex, that is... :)
5 - I love it when Aiden asks, "Mom, can I go look at the world?" which means to stand on the deck and look at our view.
6 - I absolutely love watching Aiden and Sam build "creations" and "friends" with their Legos.
7 - Sam is in the "Why?" stage which is driving me bonkers.  Finally, I decided to answer his question with another question. He in turn answered with, "What?"  After repeating myself several times, I realized that he had won.  Again.
8 - Cade loves eating solids!  He dives in for each mouthful, which thoroughly entertains the boys.  Lots of laughter and squeals at mealtimes now. :)
9 - Cade is 6 months old today!  People often ask me if he's this happy all the time.  I can say that he mostly is!  Seriously, he is the easiest laugher and smiler ever.
10 - I didn't realize what a horribly frustrating day I was having until Rex asked me why I seemed so tense.  Its so nice to have a sounding board sometimes.

This is a picture of the boys' solution to a couple ants they saw in the basement: Suffocate the little pests with the beanbag pellets.

11 - Aiden and Sam can only play video games on Fridays and Saturdays, so they have been living it up these past two days.  Aiden has the Indiana Jones theme stuck in his head from playing the Lego game of it on the Xbox.
12 - Happy Mother's Day!  The boys gave me their sweet homemade gifts (a matchbox locket from Aiden and a cute picture from Sam) and Rex have me some beautiful earrings and necklace.  I love the men in my life!

13 - Sam and I are puzzle buddies
14 - After talking to the dry cleaning lady about enrolling our sons in various sports this summer, she asked Aiden what he was going to do this summer.  He replied, "I'm going to learn to not pee my bed!"
15 - So much to do and get ready to leave this weekend.  I'm looking forward to spending time with my very pregnant sister, Monica!!
16 - Flying to see Monica and her new BABY tonight!  Little Emy couldn't wait for me to get there. :)
17 - Emy is just too cute for words.  Monica is such a good momma already.  I still can't believe that my little sister is a MOM.
18 - Being here in Utah with my mom and Monica and Cade (the little leach! ;-) ) is so wonderful. but it's wreaking havoc on Cade's schedule.... so worth it tho.
19 - I managed to check out of the hotel, return a rental car, AND catch a flight home all by myself with a baby.  Whew!  What a day.
20 - I spent most of today lazing around, recovering from my whirlwind weekend.  Rex and I were able to sneak off on a date before he leaves for the week.
21 - Well it's official, Aiden graduated preschool for the third and final time today.  When asked what he wanted to be when he grows up, he replied, "A building builder, and engineer, and an astronaut."  So proud!
22 - How is it that Sam managed to lose his brand-new sunglasses within 15 minutes of being at the park??

Here's Sam at his preschool celebration party.  He was described as being HAPPY. :)

23 - Cade is getting more and more mobile!  He can roll and pivot an entire room now.
24 - I love how big Sam's eyes get when he comes to me with an epiphany he just had.  "Mom, when a door is locked, it's a TRAP!"
25 - Summer is finally here!  Bring on the fun activities I've been planning all winter long!
26 - So.  Very. Tired.  I probably shouldn't have stayed up watching Les Miserables...
27 - Cade is starting to take his bottle again.  Halleluiah!!!
28 - Me: Aiden, would you like some Mac-N-Cheese for dinner? (we're pretty fancy at our house)
       Aiden: YEAH!... what's 'Mac'?
       Me: It's short for 'macaroni'
Aiden: (eyeing the raw noodles on the counter) May I please have some mac?
29 - We had some impressive hail this afternoon.  It woke poor Cade up from his nap, though.
30 - When Aiden had done something naughty, Rex told him he was going to have to give him a spanking. Aiden said, "It's okay.  I'll be brave."
31 - My piano camp starts next week!  AUGH!  I'm up to 17 interested students now! I can't believe that it's working...

I seriously could not get enough of Cade this month! Probably 90% of the pictures on my phone were of him.  Poor Aiden and Sam.  I'll make it up to them next month!
